Dolores Huerta

An activist for all her 81 years of life, Dolores Huerta has played an indispensable role in transforming communities all over California and the rest of the nation. Her natural aptitude for lobbying and negotiating has improved the lives and working conditions of millions of agricultural workers since the 1960’s. Working in tandem with César Chavez, she helped to launch the National Farm Workers Association in 1962 and secured Aid for Dependent Families and disability insurance for farm workers in the State of California in 1963.
